A Fall Dining Experience at Itanic Garden

Hello!
Today, I would like to introduce you to Itanic Garden, a fine dining restaurant I visited during the autumn season.
I became a fan of Chef Jong-won Son after watching him on a cooking show. Although I have visited several times throughout the seasons, I will share my review of the most recent autumn course.
Itanic Garden is located on the 36th floor of the Chosun Palace Hotel. Parking is convenient at the West building.
Operating Hours: 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays
Lunch and Dinner Courses
I visited for lunch and was seated at a window table with a great view, although the weather was cloudy.
At Itanic Garden, they change the menu card with each course. The card tells the story of the dish and is given to you in a paper bag to take home.
After being seated, they served us birch sap, known as the water of life.
The first course was a cold pumpkin porridge with caviar, which was smooth and flavorful.
The second course was a bite-sized amuse-bouche consisting of shrimp-filled rice crackers, japchae wrapped in mushrooms, and rice wrapped in seaweed. The rice cracker was my favorite, as it was soft, savory, sweet, and crispy.
The third course featured chilled crab and shrimp with fried deodeok, beautifully presented with a lovely color combination.
The fourth course was a mushroom dumpling hot pot, containing juicy dumplings wrapped in cabbage leaves. Although I don't usually like dumplings, I enjoyed this unique flavor.
The fifth course included grilled hairtail fish with pieces of cuttlefish underneath, complemented by a delicious sauce.
The sixth course was Itanic Garden's signature samgyetang, which is always a delight. It felt like a concentrated version of samgyetang, and pairing it with the white kimchi created a harmonious taste.
The seventh course featured steamed abalone, following a traditional Korean method with beef. Both the abalone and beef were tender.
Now for dessert, we had ice cream topped with thinly sliced matsutake mushrooms. Personally, I preferred the seaweed ice cream I had in the spring, which was a shocking flavor.
We also enjoyed late autumn persimmon ice cream, which was pleasantly sweet.
Finally, we received a tea set along with a beautiful box of assorted bite-sized desserts. This box is something I always want to take home!
The first tier contained omija drink, the second had yakgwa, and the third had rice cakes and yokan, which were just right for someone like me who cannot handle overly sweet desserts.
Itanic Garden is always satisfying. Although reservations can be challenging, it's a perfect spot to visit with loved ones on special occasions.
That's it for today's post! As the weather gets colder, take care of your health!
