A Memorable Trip to Cheonan

Beginning the Journey
Traveling to Cheonan for a 2-day, 1-night trip using public transportation with my child was a comfortable experience right from the start.
▲ Mugunghwa Train
We took the Mugunghwa train, which is slower than the KTX, but allows you to enjoy the scenery outside at a leisurely pace. The bumpy ride and brief stops due to signals provided my child with new experiences.
After arriving at Cheonan Station, we took a bus to our first destination, Cheonan Heungtaryeong Hall. It was easy to navigate with public transport, and since most of the activities were indoors, we could enjoy our visit regardless of the weather.
▲ Cheonan Heungtaryeong Hall
Upon entering, we found a children's craft experience area ready for us.
Children's Craft Experience
Weekdays: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Weekends: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
After completing the craft, there was a lottery gift giveaway, allowing one experience per person each day. Although the experience was limited to once a day, my child enjoyed it so much that we returned the next day to participate again.
▲ Children's Activities
After the craft session, my child was delighted to receive a small gift through a lottery draw.
▲ Exhibition Hall 1
The first-floor exhibition hall offered a calm exploration of the stories created by the roads, people, and time around the iconic Cheonan Samgeori. The changing maps and photos by year conveyed that Cheonan Samgeori is not just a place name but a space formed by the movement and lives of people.
▲ Traditional Instrument Experience
On the second floor, we could directly experience traditional and modern instruments, making it engaging for my child.
▲ Hanbok Experience
▲ Photo Zone
The addition of a Hanbok experience and a photo zone allowed us to create lasting memories of our trip.
After finishing our visit to Cheonan Heungtaryeong Hall, we walked about 10 minutes to Cheonan Museum. The route was convenient for our public transport travel.
Cheonan Museum
Upon entering the first floor of the Children's Museum, we found it was not just an exhibition to look at but a hands-on experience that kept my child engaged. We decorated a character and printed it as a bracelet, and enjoyed quizzes and activities using QR codes, which made learning about history feel like play.
Various activities, from traditional dress experiences to artifact hunts, kept us entertained without noticing the time passing. Completing more than three activities led to receiving a wish pearl, making the entire experience feel like a story.
After exploring the permanent exhibition on the third floor and the planning exhibition on the second floor, we could quietly reflect on the history of Cheonan from prehistoric times to the Joseon Dynasty. There was even a space to take photos in school uniforms, creating special memories with my child.
After visiting the museum, we crossed the overpass to Cheonan Samgeori Park. The walk was easy and enjoyable, making it a pleasant experience for both of us.
Entering the park, we were greeted by a beautiful pond, a red bridge, and a pavilion. The well-maintained walking paths and benches made it a perfect spot to relax after our exhibition visits.
Reflecting on the history of Cheonan that we had learned about in the museum, we naturally engaged in conversation, saying things like, "That photo we saw earlier looks similar to this place." This course, starting at Cheonan Heungtaryeong Hall, experiencing the Children's Museum, and strolling through Cheonan Samgeori Park, was perfect for a family outing. It combined seeing, experiencing, and walking, making it easy to plan without any hassle.
