Discovering Gravity Cafe in Gwanghye-won
If you visit Gwanghye-won, there’s a cafe you must check out: Gravity Cafe, which serves Jincheon Rice Tigré. It's located just a short walk up a hill past the famous herbal samgyetang restaurant. The cafe is surprisingly high and secluded, making it a hidden gem.
The address is 89, Hwaejuk 4-gil, Gwanghye-won-myeon, Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. Gravity Cafe operates daily from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM and offers a dedicated parking area, making it convenient for visitors.
As you approach Gravity Cafe, you’ll find a spacious parking lot. Though slightly sloped, it offers ample parking space, making it easy to visit by car. The cafe is open every day without holidays.
Upon entering the cafe, the first thing you notice is a large grassy area. There are extended cafe spaces, bungalows, a cool fountain, and even camping chairs and tables nestled in the woods! What appeared to be a simple building from the parking lot transforms into a resort-like atmosphere inside.
Gravity Cafe sells Jincheon Rice Tigré, a product developed by the Jincheon Agricultural Technology Center to enhance the value of local agricultural products. This unique dessert comes in two flavors: bean cream and black sesame cream, each showcasing the rich taste of Jincheon rice. The cafe also offers various baked goods and cakes.
The menu includes brunch favorites like pizzas, sandwiches, and salads. Unfortunately, I visited right after lunch and couldn't sample as many dishes as I would have liked.
Ordering is easy through a kiosk. You can enter your phone number to receive notifications via KakaoTalk when your order is ready, and payments can be made using Jincheon Pay for added convenience.
While waiting for my order, I explored the cafe. The main building has a cozy atmosphere filled with the aroma of fresh bread, while the annex features large windows for enjoying the natural view.
Next to the annex are bungalows available for hourly rental. They exude a glamping vibe and are perfect for private gatherings or small parties. The bungalows look cozy, with a fountain nearby, creating a refreshing ambiance.
As I finished exploring, I received a notification that my drinks and dessert were ready. Sitting in the spacious outdoor area felt rejuvenating. I finally got to taste the Jincheon Rice Tigré, which was elegantly topped with gold flakes. The first bite revealed its smooth texture, with a delightful chewy and moist consistency that exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to try the black sesame cream next time!
