Exploring Affordable Dining in Taean: A Visit to Jungwalu

Recently, rising prices have made dining out feel burdensome for many.
To cope, I've been exploring the affordable dining options in Taean County.
The Affordable Price Business program selects establishments that offer reasonable prices and good service.
Upon visiting, I've found many places that not only have great prices but also high satisfaction and taste, which I will introduce one by one.
This time, I visited Jungwalu located in Anmyeon-eup, Taean County.
Jungwalu is designated as an Affordable Price Business by Taean County, providing quality food at reasonable prices and is loved by the local community.
Notably, their signature dish, Jajangmyeon, is priced at 6,000 won, making it even more appealing considering recent dining costs.
True to its name, it is a place where you can enjoy a meal at a reasonable price.
Jungwalu is conveniently located on the way from Anmyeon-eup to Boryeong, making it a good spot for a hassle-free meal during your visit to Anmyeondo.
The restaurant operates from 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM (last order at 7:00 PM), and is closed on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month, so it's good to keep that in mind before visiting.
The interior of the restaurant is clean and comfortable, creating a welcoming atmosphere for families and local residents alike.
Both table and floor seating are available, making it easy for families with young children or groups to dine comfortably.
During my visit, I ordered Jajangmyeon, Jjamppong, and Tangsuyuk.
In addition to basic Chinese dishes, Jungwalu offers a variety of menu options.
Their spicy Jjukkumi Jajangmyeon is particularly popular among customers for its rich flavor and generous ingredients.
The table was set with basic side dishes like onions and pickled radish, along with a selection of sauces for personal preference.
The 6,000 won Jajangmyeon had a rich black bean flavor with a pleasant sweetness, making it easy to enjoy.
Considering that Jajangmyeon prices can often exceed 7,000 to 8,000 won these days, this meal was quite satisfying.
The Jjamppong stood out with its spicy yet refreshing broth.
The combination of various vegetables and seafood created a clean and rich flavor, making it enjoyable without being overly stimulating.
(However, the Jjamppong at Jungwalu is slightly spicy, so I recommend the Jajangmyeon for those who prefer milder flavors.)
The Tangsuyuk was also noteworthy.
The crispy batter and tender meat complemented each other well, and the sweet and sour sauce was a perfect match.
It was a great dish to enjoy between bites of Jajangmyeon and Jjamppong.
When one thinks of an Affordable Price Business, it's easy to assume that it's just about cheap prices.
Jungwalu not only offers reasonable prices but also satisfying flavors and portions, making it memorable.
Taean County operates various Affordable Price Businesses, supporting both residents and tourists to enjoy dining at reasonable prices.
While traveling, it’s common to seek out restaurants near famous tourist spots.
However, visiting local eateries that residents frequently patronize can add another layer of enjoyment to your travels.
If you're looking for a cost-effective Chinese restaurant during your trip to Anmyeondo, I recommend visiting Jungwalu in Taean County.
It’s a place where you can enjoy delicious Chinese cuisine at an affordable price.
