Exploring the Ami Art Museum in Dangjin

The Ami Art Museum, located in Dangjin, is a unique ecological art museum that has preserved the building of a former elementary school.
During my visit in early summer, the hydrangeas were in full bloom, making it a lovely time to explore both the indoor exhibitions and the beautiful surroundings.

The Ami Art Museum has transformed a closed school into a vibrant art space.
The museum utilizes the former Udeung Elementary School building, creating a nostalgic environment for adults while providing a familiar space for children.
The exhibit areas are perfect for photography, featuring exotic pink sculptures in the hallways where children used to play and spacious classrooms now serving as galleries.
The view from the windows adds to the charm, with the bright white birch forest creating a mystical atmosphere, while purple sculptures enhance the visual appeal.
The indoor exhibition space is also a popular spot for Instagram photos, with many natural points that invite visitors to take pictures. However, commercial photography and tripod use are prohibited.
Current Exhibition: 'From Home, Space to Life'
The ongoing exhibition by artist Kwon In-kyung explores human inner nature through various artworks, examining life traces in familiar spaces like apartments and living rooms.
Park Soo-kyung's work visually reconstructs a home filled with childhood anxieties, while Kim Rae-hyun's pieces involve creating a small house from origami blueprints and visualizing a virtual refuge.
This exhibition impressively expands the concept of home into a broader space of life.
Outdoor Exhibition Area with Beautiful Hydrangeas
Stepping into the outdoor exhibition area, the school building itself becomes a work of art, covered in ivy with various artworks adorning its walls.
A path next to the school leads through a lush forest, perfect for a leisurely stroll. Currently, the hydrangeas are in full bloom, creating a stunning landscape with colorful flowers and sculptures.
Café Giverny
Just a little further past the bamboo grove, you'll find Café Giverny nestled in the woods. The exotic scenery is breathtaking.
Inside, the cozy interior and the natural views outside are quite impressive, making it a perfect spot to relax with a cup of tea after exploring the exhibitions.
