As early summer fills the air with freshness, a special stone bridge with a millennium of history is gaining popularity in Jincheon, Chungbuk. The picturesque scenery of lush green fields and the clear waters of the Segeumcheon River is enough to wash away the fatigue of everyday life.

After the festival crowds have passed, tranquility returns, allowing visitors to fully experience the breath of nature. This spot is perfect for a romantic date or a leisurely walk with parents, making it an ideal healing course.

Crossing the Nong Bridge leads to a beautiful waterside walking path along Chopyeongho Lake. The recently popular Mir 309 suspension bridge is about 3 km round trip, easily walkable in approximately 40 minutes.

If time permits, you can extend your journey to include the Sky Bridge course, making it a 4.5 km round trip. The dense shade provided by the lush greenery and the cool breeze from the lake make it perfect for escaping the early summer heat.

The Nong Bridge, the oldest stone bridge in Korea, was constructed by General Im during the early Goryeo period. Notably, it was built using a technique that interlocks natural stones without any adhesives or lime.

Over the years, it has remained a remarkable 93.6 meters long, proving its unique value. The structure's ability to withstand the pressure from strong water currents is impressive even by modern civil engineering standards.

There is no entrance fee, making it a budget-friendly destination. However, the parking lot operates on a paid system for environmental management, so visitors should keep this in mind before arriving.

For passenger cars, parking is free for the first 30 minutes, with a fee of 4,000 KRW for up to 12 hours thereafter. Small and eco-friendly vehicles can receive a 50% discount on-site.

For safety, entry is prohibited after sunset when there is no lighting, and during heavy rain, the bridge may be closed. Payments for parking can only be made by card, as cash is not accepted.

For public transportation, taking a bus from Jincheon Terminal towards Munbaek and getting off at Jungri Station is convenient. If using navigation, searching for Nong Bridge Storyum will help you find the location easily.

Walking across this ancient stone bridge offers a profound experience of encountering the wisdom of our ancestors. This weekend, consider embarking on a healing journey to Jincheon, where the refreshing lake and suspension bridge await.
