Recently, I visited the Goesan Library and was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and pleasant the environment was.
Located at 38, Eumnae-ro 12-gil, Goesan-eup, Goesan-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, this library has ample parking space, making it easy to visit by car. As I parked and entered the library, I felt the organized atmosphere immediately, which lifted my spirits.
The Goesan Education Library is closed on Mondays and public holidays, so it's good to check the operating hours before visiting. The resource room operates from 9 AM to 6 PM, while the reading room is available from 9 AM to 9 PM on weekdays and from 9 AM to 6 PM on weekends. Upon entering the first floor, you will find the Children's Room and the General Resource Room. I first explored the General Resource Room, which houses about 70,000 books across various fields. There is also a computer area in the General Resource Room, which is useful for internet searches and online lectures, adding to the library's versatility.
The lounge area is pleasantly decorated, with outlets available for charging phones or working on laptops. It is a perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee and relax.
The Children's Room was particularly impressive, featuring colorful decor and low bookshelves designed for children, creating a cozy reading environment. If you visit with young children, they will surely enjoy it. I noticed several parents reading picture books with their kids during my visit.
On the second floor, there are reading rooms, a laptop reading room, and lifelong education rooms. The reading rooms provide a quiet and comfortable environment for focused studying, with adequate spacing between desks to allow for concentration.
What I appreciated most was the dedicated laptop reading room. Many people study or work on laptops these days, and it can be distracting in a regular reading room due to typing sounds. However, the Goesan Library has a separate space for laptop users, allowing everyone to work without disturbing each other. Each table is equipped with power outlets, which is a significant advantage for long usage.
The Goesan Library feels like more than just a place to borrow books; it has become a cultural space where local residents can spend their time comfortably. It serves as a study area for students, a self-development space for professionals, and a reading education area for parents with young children.
Especially during the cold winter months, it is a great place to read or study comfortably indoors. If you are looking for a place to visit in Goesan, I highly recommend the Goesan Education Library. While it may not be as flashy as tourist attractions, I believe it is one of the best places to enjoy some quiet time.
