Exploring the Dangjin City Library
Recently, libraries have evolved from being mere places to read books to becoming multifaceted cultural spaces.
Today, I visited one of the various libraries in Dangjin City.
This public library is located in Hapdeok-eup, Dangjin-si, Chungcheongnam-do, and serves as a space providing knowledge and information for local residents.
It is the Dangjin City Hall Library in Hapdeok.
The library operates from 9 AM to 10 PM on weekdays and from 9 AM to 6 PM on weekends.
It is advisable to check the holiday schedule, as the library is closed on legal holidays.
In front of the library, there is a designated parking area for vehicles.
Although it is not spacious, it is a useful area.
The Dangjin City Hall Library consists of two floors.
The first floor features a general reading room and a children's reading room, as well as a separate nursing room.
The second floor includes an administration office, lifelong education room, and a free study room that serves as a reading space, along with a lounge for citizens.
Upon entering the library, a spacious central area displays a book curation exhibition.
This exhibition is designed to convey stories related to books, creating a cozy yet meaningful space.
I first went up to the second floor to explore the area.
As seen in the photos, there is also a lounge area available.
The free study room is simply designed.
Although I visited shortly after the library opened and there were no citizens using the free study room, it is a popular public space on weekends.
I also had the chance to look at the general and children's reading rooms on the first floor.
The library holds a variety of books, including general, children's, and reference materials, with options for borrowing and reading.
Additionally, the library hosts various cultural programs for local residents, such as humanities performances, children's reading programs, and lifelong education courses throughout the year.
There is also a machine for borrowing books located in front of the reading room, so please make use of it.
