Exploring Wolsong Forest in Geochang
When you visit Geochang, there are many well-known spots, but there are also serene places that are perfect for a tranquil getaway.
One such place is Wolsong Forest in Buk Sang-myeon, Geochang. Wolsong Village consists of Yangji Village and Naegye Village, and Wolsong Forest is located just across the bridge in front of Yangji Village.
During my visit, I was surrounded by a feast of greenery, which was a refreshing sight.
The bridge in front of Yangji Village is about halfway along the Seochul Dongryu Trail, which has become popular among walking enthusiasts. You can encounter Wolsong Forest while walking this trail.
At the entrance of the forest, there are signboards that guide you to places worth visiting during your trip to Geochang, along with a trekking map for the Seochul Dongryu Water Trail. It might be a good idea to take a look at these before deciding where to go.
You can park in front of the village or cross the bridge to find a separate parking area, making it convenient to bring your car. There are also restroom facilities within the park for your convenience.
At the forest, you can find the Wolsong Historical Monument commemorating the anti-Japanese movement, which allows you to take a brief journey back in time. We must always remember to be grateful for the achievements of those individuals who have paved the way for our present lives.
Does the scenery in the forest feel refreshing under the sun? I felt like I was in paradise. Lying on the deck and gazing at the sky, the gentle breeze tickled my face, making me feel like I was enjoying a piece of heaven on earth.
Although the spring drought has made things a bit tough, all worries disappeared while I was in the forest. Walking along the Seochul Dongryu Water Trail in Wolsong Forest, you can enjoy a refreshing experience as all paths are shaded by trees.
