Shinan County Launches 'Just Dream' Pilot Program

Shinan County's 'Just Dream' Pilot Program
Officially Kicks Off!
Shinan County has launched a welfare program
to support residents facing economic hardships.
This initiative aims to provide faster and warmer assistance.
The program, affectionately named 'Just Dream',
offers direct support when needed.
One of the key features of this program is
that residents can receive assistance immediately,
without complex screenings.
When residents in crisis are identified,
they will receive basic groceries worth 20,000 won each.
If additional help is needed,
the program will connect them with public and private welfare resources
for tailored support.
This 'pre-support, post-connection' approach
ensures effective assistance.
To address the unique challenges of island residents,
the 'Mobile Just Dream Car' has been introduced.
Given the geographical characteristics of Shinan,
many residents find it difficult to access existing food banks.
The Mobile Just Dream Car provides a
mobile welfare service that reaches out
to island residents and those with mobility issues.
It delivers food and essential supplies for free,
helping to reduce welfare blind spots.
The 1004 Island Shinan Basic Food Bank
is committed to creating a warm sharing culture.
Director Kang Jeong-hee stated,
"Considering the restrictions on welfare service access
in many island areas,
we will practice more thorough sharing
by directly reaching out to residents through the Mobile Just Dream Car."
A representative from Shinan County also emphasized
that the Mobile Just Dream Car is a field-centered welfare model
based on public-private cooperation.
They plan to proactively identify residents in crisis
and ensure timely support.
The 1004 Island Shinan Basic Food Bank
will continue to expand its support through local
businesses, organizations, and individuals.
Together, they aim to create a sustainable sharing
and welfare system that fits the needs of Shinan County.
At the moment of need,
welfare should be the first to reach out.
We look forward to the future steps of Shinan's 'Just Dream' program.
