01 Designing a Travel Itinerary for Hanoi

Feeling overwhelmed from daily life, I seized the opportunity to travel abroad and visited Phu Quoc with a friend. After planning a week-long itinerary, we enjoyed a beach tour as well. My friend, who was also a close colleague, had traveled to Vietnam three years ago, and this trip brought back many memories. While enjoying the beach tour in Phu Quoc, I found a sense of romance.

Due to our busy lives, meeting during our time off was all we managed, but this year I decided to make time to enjoy some romance. Since our early days as colleagues, we grew closer, and after getting married, we started traveling together more. Our first overseas trip together was to Vietnam three years ago, making this year's trip even more special.

Although my friend was a typical office worker who only traveled between home and work, he decided to take annual leave to relieve stress, and we impulsively booked our flight. We departed from Incheon Airport Terminal 2 at 9 AM, planning a 6-night, 7-day stay in Phu Quoc, followed by 3 nights each in Da Nang and Hoi An.

Before the trip, I searched for travel information on YouTube and spent an hour daily gathering data about Phu Quoc. I had high expectations for this trip, thinking it would provide a healing point in my daily life. I checked the itinerary thoroughly, hoping for a smooth travel experience. Since it was a week-long trip, I had a lot of luggage, and I was worried about how to get to Incheon Airport.

There was an airport shuttle bus, but with a 9 AM flight, I wondered if there would be enough time, as my home was quite far from the airport. Calling a taxi felt daunting with so much luggage, and taxi fares have increased significantly, making it seem expensive. So, I decided that driving my own car would be the best option. Although I faced parking issues, I found solutions through prior planning.

02 Checking Incheon Airport Terminal 2 Long-Term Parking

I checked the long-term parking rates at Incheon Airport. While some believe the official long-term parking is affordable, I found it to be quite expensive. The rates are listed on the Incheon Airport website, with outdoor parking costing 9,000 KRW per day, totaling 60,000 KRW for 6 nights and 7 days.

Additionally, there is a separate valet fee of 20,000 KRW! If you use the official facility, you must use the valet service; otherwise, you need to take a shuttle bus for a 10-minute ride to the departure terminal. I found this inconvenient, leading me to explore more comfortable departure options.

03 Review of Valet Parking Reservation at Incheon Airport Terminal 2

At the official parking lot, if you don't request valet service, you must take a shuttle, which can be cumbersome with luggage, plus the long walk to the terminal. The same process repeats when returning from a domestic trip, where you still have to retrieve your car from the underground parking lot. This was a hassle.

Though it was a paid service, I felt it could be improved. After a tiring return, the thought of going back and forth to find my car was exhausting. After checking community reviews, I found that Nadri Parking Service had the best ratings among external valet parking providers at Incheon Airport Terminal 2, and reservations could be made through their website.

04 Convenience of Reservation at Incheon Airport Terminal 2 Long-Term Parking

The cost was significantly discounted compared to the official parking, and I appreciated that the driver picked up my car right near the departure terminal. When I arrived at the airport, I could receive my car close to the gate, making it convenient even with heavy luggage. The reservation process was straightforward; I only had to provide basic information and vehicle type to calculate the real-time fee without needing any verification. I received confirmation within three minutes.

On the day of departure, I contacted the driver about 10 minutes before arriving at the airport to get the meeting location, which was near Terminal 1. The driver checked the car's condition and took necessary photos, issuing a receipt.

They even helped transfer my luggage from the trunk and provided guidance on how to use the service upon return, allowing for a pleasant start to my trip. I arrived at the airline desk within three minutes after handing over my car. If I had parked at the official long-term parking, I would have had to wait for the shuttle and walk a long distance, which could be tiring. However, with a reservation, I could check in smoothly at the departure terminal.

05 Future Travels to Hanoi

About two hours later, we arrived in Hanoi, and I was satisfied with the in-flight meal. Using Grab in Vietnam provided a local experience. We booked a hotel near Ha Long Bay, dropped off our luggage, and explored restaurants and tourist spots. I noticed many Koreans at Ti Top Island and the Train Street. We enjoyed a cruise package and bought souvenirs that my family would love.

Da Nang, with its satisfying massages and exotic atmosphere, left a lasting impression. The welcome tea helped me cool down, and I enjoyed the spa twice. The homemade pho was delicious and available in Hoi An as well. Since I made reservations in advance, there was little waiting, and I was extremely happy with the pho course meal, which I highly recommend.

This year's trip to Phu Quoc engraved various sights in my mind and heart. We did a lot of sightseeing, and I remember feeling exhausted every time we returned to the hotel. On the last day, we revisited Ha Long Bay and the Train Street, and it was so enjoyable that we promised to travel to Japan before the end of the year. I was captivated by the Vietnam itinerary.

06 Easy Return from Incheon Airport Long-Term Parking

When the flight landed in Incheon, I contacted the service while retrieving my luggage, and the driver was already at the gate. It was convenient to receive my car close to the gate. The short distance made it manageable even with heavy luggage. After checking the car's condition, I could pay immediately and head home.

Arrived in Korea!

It seems that some countries now allow registration and entry through kiosks.

I was surprised to see the long lines at the immigration area,

I didn’t expect so many flights arriving in the early morning at Incheon!

The queue was so long that I couldn’t see where it ended.

Even with automated immigration checks, it felt like a maze,

and it took quite a while to wait for my turn.

When I went to collect my luggage,

my bags were already out! Haha.

As soon as I boarded the plane in Manila, I fell asleep,

and when I woke up near the arrival time,

I remembered that I had left some items to pack until the last minute.

Things to do at Incheon Airport:

I met my sister as if we were reuniting after a long time.

Since I had plenty of time, I decided to tackle one task at a time!

After going to a bookstore to buy the SIM card and postcards,

I also needed to go to Olive Young (in the basement) for sunscreen,

so I decided to store my luggage.

I found out that I could store my bags at the courier service,

using 'Hanjin Express'.

The base rate for large and extra-large suitcases is 5,000 won each,

applicable for up to 4 hours; after that, it’s 10,000 won.

There were many others using the service,

and wow, Incheon Airport is really big!

Thinking of dragging my luggage around made me feel exhausted before the trip even started.

I think the price is reasonable.

Then my sister mentioned she felt a bit under the weather,

so we stopped by a nearby pharmacy to buy some emergency medicine.

I love fixed pricing like this!

Next time I go to Korea, I want to organize my medicine better.

I took a screenshot of the list of essential medications.

At the bookstore, I bought the SIM card,

but I couldn’t find Christmas postcards.

I skipped preparing a copy of my passport.

I went down to the basement for shopping at Olive Young.

As soon as I entered, I spotted the skin cushion right away.

I only saw the brands I knew, haha.

I bought the Jung Saem Mool Essential Skin Nuder Cushion,

which I had previously tried at the duty-free shop, and liked it.

I took a photo to compare prices for buying it on my return flight.

I also bought a birch moisture sunscreen that I had used before.

Since I had tried it, I decided to purchase it,

and they provided a tax refund receipt at checkout.

I had searched for a moisturizing cream but hadn’t used it yet, so I noted it for price comparison.

I finished buying the essentials,

and while I decided to sit and rest,

I noticed some interesting sports bags and hard cases for bicycles!

I even saw a scene reminiscent of a drama,

with a cute dog in a large cage,

as if it were going for adoption abroad.

After exiting Incheon Airport, I took a moment to enjoy the fresh air,

and feeling hungry after finishing my errands,

I stopped by two CUs to find the longed-for triangle kimbap and fish cake.

I ended up feeling a bit full after loading up on carbs on an empty stomach, haha.

I remembered buying the SIM card at that bookstore when I went to Malta last year,

so I had no trouble buying it again.

I hope my phone supports dual SIM or eSIM soon.

I heard there’s an international driver’s license issuance center at Incheon Airport,

so if you plan to rent a car, you can sort everything out at the airport! (Closed on weekends)

I had once heard about the battery regulations,

and while I put mine in a ziplock bag, they allow tape at the airport.

Returning to the luggage storage, I retrieved my bags,

checked in, and sent my checked luggage.

Next time, I’ll avoid the weekend! Haha.
