Saturday, 1/3. Today was truly a challenging day.

My friend, who doesn't usually eat cake, made a pickup reservation for me

at the Tous Les Jours near Jemulpo Station.

However, when I arrived, they said there was no reservation under my name

and looked at me as if to say, "What do you want me to do?"

At that moment, one thought crossed my mind:

So, what am I supposed to do now…?

I showed them the pickup message and code, and when I asked about it,

they called the owner, who replied,

"I didn't know it was reserved through the app."

There was no apology.

So today was a day filled with anger.

To make matters worse, they said there was no cake available for my reservation.

In the end, I was directed to choose a cake priced at around 32,000 won.

Yet, the only cakes on display were priced at 33,000 and 34,000 won.

I wondered if this was some sort of bait-and-switch.

Though I felt it was unfair to not receive even a single apology,

I just wanted to get out of there quickly,

so I bought the 34,000 won cake and decided to chalk up the extra 2,000 won as a loss.

Still, not hearing a "I'm sorry" left me feeling frustrated all day.

So today was a day filled with anger.

I felt bad for my brother, but I was so hungry that my tone got sharper.

I quickly finished selecting rental clothes and the color for the event outfit,

and we headed out for a meal.

We ordered the Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen and the Karai Ramen set.

The set came with salad, mini yurin katsu, and rice.

The Tonkotsu ramen had a mild flavor.

It wasn’t deeply flavorful, but it would be nice for a light ramen craving.

The Karai ramen was a bit spicy,

which was a little too much for my brother but just right for me,

like Shin Ramyeon, and I found it delicious.

Surprisingly, the mini yurin katsu was really tasty.

The tangy yurin sauce cut through the richness of the tonkatsu,

making it a flavor I could eat repeatedly.

For dinner, my parents stopped by to give me some kimchi, and I decided to treat them to dinner.

Since it was already 4 PM and my first meal of the day,

I was so hungry that I also bought a sandwich

we went to a kalguksu and jjukkumi restaurant.

We ordered jjukkumi bossam and spicy beef soup kalguksu.

The bossam had a slight aroma of jokbal and a very rich flavor,

and my mom enjoyed the kimchi.

The jjukkumi was a bit spicy, but I enjoyed it.

The spicy beef soup kalguksu was especially tasty with the taro inside,

and my sister and dad also liked it.

However, it wasn’t easy during the meal

because a drunken customer kept crying and yelling,

interrupting our conversation.

My mom was also frustrated but held it in,

while I just wanted to eat quickly and leave.

Though I couldn’t fully enjoy the food,

it was decent overall.

The owner seemed overwhelmed running the place alone,

and eventually, my companion apologized on their behalf,

which helped resolve the situation.

In the end, I split the 24,000 won I received with my mom.

Though it was a frustrating day,

I wonder if this was some sort of bad luck cleansing?

Today was just not a good day.
