Changes to the Reservation System for the Green Forest Reading Area

By Reporter Yeseul Jo
The reservation method for some areas of the Green Forest Reading Area has changed.
As a popular facility used by many citizens, checking the changes in advance will allow for a more convenient experience.
The Green Forest Reading Area is an outdoor reading space located in a forest next to the Gwanggyo Green Forest Library. It allows citizens to read and relax while feeling the nature of the forest, making it a beloved spot.
Previously, the Green Forest Reading Area operated on a first-come, first-served reservation system. However, due to high demand at the start of reservations, many found it difficult to secure their desired dates. In response to citizen feedback, the Gwanggyo Green Forest Library has introduced a lottery system to provide more citizens with the opportunity to use the space.
However, not all areas will utilize the lottery system. The areas Baekrihyang and Sansujuk will operate on a lottery basis, while Baramkkot and Mulbongsun will continue with the first-come, first-served method. Geumgangchorong will offer both priority and general reservation methods.
The lottery will accept reservations from the 1st of each month at 10 AM until the 6th at 6 PM for the following month. Users will be selected through a random drawing, with results announced on the 7th at 10 AM. Those selected can use the Green Forest Reading Area on their reserved date.
This change reduces the pressure of applying at the exact start time for lottery-based spaces, allowing for a more relaxed reservation process. It is expected that more citizens will be able to experience reading in nature at the Green Forest Reading Area.
Citizens wishing to use the Green Forest Reading Area can apply for reservations through the Gwanggyo Green Forest Library website or the Suwon City Library integrated reservation system.
Having personally experienced the Green Forest Reading Area, I found it spacious and open, making even the time spent reading a book feel special.
With the newly implemented lottery system, I encourage everyone to take a break from daily life and enjoy some leisure time with a book in nature.
