As summer vacation approaches, I visited Daewangam Park, a representative tourist destination in Ulsan, to share my experience with our neighbors.

Although I expected the clear blue waters of the East Sea, the typical unpredictable weather during the rainy season enveloped the park in thick fog. Initially, I felt disappointed, but as I walked further, I began to appreciate the unique charm that the dense fog brought to Daewangam Park.

I captured the distinctive and attractive scenery of Daewangam Park, which can only be seen on foggy, rainy days.

Now, let's get started! :D

Daewangam Park is home to numerous attractions, but I particularly wanted to introduce you to the beautiful pine forest trail with around 15,000 trees.

On the day of my visit, the thick fog filled the area, obscuring my view of the towering pines. The silhouettes of the massive pine trees created a serene atmosphere. The humid air during the summer rain season intensified the scent of the pines, making me take a deep breath, feeling that this moment was incredibly pure and refreshing.

After passing through the pine forest, I arrived at the Daewangam Suspension Bridge, a recent landmark in the park. This bridge has become a must-see for visitors.

The suspension bridge offers breathtaking views of crashing waves and the blue sea on clear days, providing a thrilling experience. However, crossing it on a foggy day felt like walking in the clouds, offering a different kind of allure.

Opened in 2021, the bridge is a 303-meter-long coastal suspension bridge that allows you to enjoy refreshing views of the East Sea, unique rock formations, and coastal scenery. It is designed to be safe, ensuring that anyone can cross it with peace of mind.

Continuing down the coastal path after crossing the bridge, I finally reached the main purpose of my visit: the majestic rocks of Daewangam. This stunning rock island is not only visually impressive but also steeped in history and the deep desire for national protection dating back to the Silla Dynasty.

On a foggy day, standing before Daewangam made me feel as if the legends surrounding it were about to unfold right before my eyes.

According to legend, King Munmu of Silla vowed to become a great dragon of the East Sea after his death to protect his country. His queen, after her passing, also transformed into a dragon to guard the East Sea. The rock is said to be the resting place of the queen, hence its name, Daewangam.

As I approached the inner end of Daewangam, crossing the bridge, I was awestruck by the massive red rocks surrounded by thick fog and white waves, resembling a grand ink painting.

Even when the weather is cloudy, Daewangam Park offers stunning views, reminding us that the beauty of nature is not solely dependent on sunny days. The fog-shrouded pine forest, the bridge that felt like walking on clouds, and the legendary Daewangam all contributed to an enchanting experience.

Despite not encountering the clear skies and emerald waters I had hoped for, the fog created a uniquely beautiful atmosphere in Ulsan's Daewangam Park. This place showcases different facets of beauty depending on the season, time, and weather, making it worth a visit regardless of conditions.

During your summer vacation, I hope you create special memories at Daewangam Park, where nature, history, and beautiful seas come together.
