Exploring the Beautiful Yongyucheon Walking Path
As we swiftly move past the two-month mark of the new year,
it's a great time to reassess the plans we set for ourselves.
A peaceful trip to reflect on life can be incredibly beneficial.
The Yongyucheon walking path in Eumam-myeon, Seosan, seems to be just the place for this.
Though it's a narrow path, cars can also travel along the Yongyucheon walking path,
which stretches approximately 6.3 km along the Dodangcheon stream.
As you walk, you'll encounter historical sites like Dangudae, Dangujeong, and Yongwudae.
While it's not spring yet, about 800 cherry blossom trees are expected to bloom here,
making it a place to look forward to.
You'll also notice a stone bridge along the Yongyucheon walking path.
This bridge leads to Yongyu Dae, which features a pavilion.
Yongyu Dae is a historical site associated with Kim Jeok (1564-1646),
a scholar from the Joseon Dynasty.
After retiring from public office due to the political turmoil during King Gwanghae's reign,
he settled here and enjoyed the beautiful scenery along with nearby Dangudae.
The area is adorned with unique rocks and pine trees, creating a mystical landscape.
The rocks, shaped like eggs, are clustered together and reach heights of about 2 to 5 meters.
On a large rock by the river, an inscription reads:
"Dangukim Seonsaeng Yusang Gohuhjeok."
Kim Jeok is known to have built Yangseongdang to educate future generations.
The gently flowing stream makes walking pleasant and brings peace to the mind.
It's a great spot to quietly rest and reflect, especially at Dangujeong.
Dangudae was often visited by the scholar Kim Jinam,
who would stroll here, especially in spring when the area was covered with peach blossoms.
The serene river and the reflection of the green pines in the moonlight create a breathtaking scene.
Later, Kim Jeok returned to his hometown and named this place Dangudae.
Visiting Yongyucheon in Eumam-myeon, Seosan,
is a delightful experience, even without the historical sites.
It offers a leisurely walking path, perfect for a visit when traveling in Seosan.
It's also a place where you can experience traditional Korean houses.
If you visit with children, it's an educational spot worth exploring.
Yongyucheon walking path is truly a serene place to stroll.
