The Haman Complex Literary Museum operates various exhibitions, experiences, and educational programs based on local literature, serving as a cultural space that conveys the value and meaning of literature.
Located near Haman Library and Hamju Park, the museum is a great spot to visit in conjunction with these sites.
Beyond merely displaying works, the museum is designed to allow visitors to experience local history and life through literature.
Using a retro photo machine, visitors can create memories with family and loved ones, making it a delightful spot for capturing moments.
Additionally, a Secret Book Adventure mission is available. After receiving a mission sheet at the first-floor information desk, participants can choose from options A to F to solve riddles and uncover hidden stories. Completing all missions allows participation in a lucky draw, adding a unique twist to the experience.
Viewing photographs from the 3rd Ara Literary Contest in 1991, I was reminded of Haman's rich literary history.
The museum also showcases poems and literary works inspired by the beautiful landscapes of Haman, such as the Ara Red Lotus at the Lotus Theme Park and the autumn foliage of Ipok County Park.
In exploring the development of Haman literature, I learned about the historical progression of classical literature centered around the yangban class, as well as how literary foundations expanded after the establishment of the Joseon Dynasty. The stories of literary figures like Jo Yeol and Lee O, who settled in Haman, were particularly impressive.
The museum features traditional tales and folk songs that reflect the lives and emotions of local people, accessible through electronic screens. These stories and songs, passed down orally over generations, vividly convey the history and culture of Haman.
The timeline of Haman literature's development provides a detailed overview of its evolution over the past century, showing how local writers have influenced its growth. I was surprised to discover the number of literary figures from Haman through this opportunity.
The area showcasing the sparks of Haman literature and the activities of literary groups enriched my understanding of the area's literary heritage and naturally sparked my interest in local literature.
Information on local writers is organized by town and village on a display map, allowing visitors to learn about active literary figures.
The museum includes spaces for experiencing traditional games like Go-rye and Tuho, providing an engaging way to enjoy literature while learning about local traditions.
There is also a resting area for enjoying coffee or beverages, allowing visitors to relax and savor the space.
The modern literature resource room has a vast collection of books from various authors, making it a delightful place to explore literature.
Lastly, the museum features visual representations of writers and their works through line art, symbolizing the growth of Haman literature. The experience is visually striking and memorable.
