Gallery Time: A Unique Clock Museum Experience in Dangjin

Have you ever heard of "Gallery Time"? Located in Myeoncheon, Dangjin City, South Chungcheong Province, this café doubles as a clock museum.
The charming building houses over 1,800 clocks collected from around the world, showcasing pieces that date from the 1700s to modern times.
Once you step inside, you'll be captivated by the beauty of these clocks and lose track of time.
The antique-themed clock museum is perfect for photography, making it a unique date spot that I highly recommend.
I first discovered Gallery Time through an Instagram reel. The place looked so beautiful that I had to find it, only to learn it was in Dangjin. I quickly made my way there.
Seeing Gallery Time in person was even more impressive than in photos. The ambiance is hard to capture in images, leaving me yearning for more.
Gallery Time was brought to life by the dedication of Kim Joong-kwon, who has spent over 40 years collecting clocks. From large grandfather clocks to delicate French porcelain pieces from the Rococo period, the variety is astounding.
As I wandered through this charming space, I wondered why I hadn’t discovered it sooner. Although it is a café, it feels more like a museum.
Gallery Time consists of several rooms, each showcasing clocks with different themes. From oversized clocks to smaller ones, every corner reflects the curator's passion for timepieces.
Not only is it a museum, but you can also enjoy delicious coffee here. While leisurely appreciating the clocks, the kind owner serves aromatic coffee that fills the space with a delightful scent.
This time, I visited alone, but I would love to return with my children to share this experience.
Each clock has its own unique design, making it hard not to take photos. I saw a young couple with a child during my visit and hoped that Gallery Time would still be here when their child grows up.
Although I couldn't capture the sounds in my photos, delightful Rococo-style music played throughout the space, enhancing the atmosphere.
I was so enchanted by the elegance of the surroundings that I knew I would want to visit often.
A fun aspect of the museum is the multitude of clocks. At each hour, the various alarms create a unique symphony. The owner explained that all clocks are manually operated, so they don’t ring simultaneously.
I eagerly waited for 6 and 7 PM to hear the different clock sounds, which made for an interesting experience at Gallery Time.
This wraps up my visit to Gallery Time, a unique travel destination in Dangjin. If you want to see the most beautiful sights of Gallery Time, I recommend visiting before sunset and staying to enjoy the view.
It felt like discovering a gem, and I definitely want to return.
